30 Hour Training for NYS Child Care Providers
The NYSOCFS/NYCDOH requires that all child care staff members interacting with children in regulated FDC/GFDC, Small and Large Daycare centers, and School-Age Programs complete a minimum of 30 hours of training every two years addressing all ten topics.

About the event
This training is designed to help all NYS child care staff members interacting with children in regulated FDC/GFDC, Small and Large Daycare centers, and School-Age Programs complete a minimum of 30 hours of training every two years addressing the following ten topics:
- Principles of childhood development, focusing on the development stages of the age groups for which the program provides care
- Nutrition and health needs of infants and children
- Child day care program development
- Safety and security procedures
- Business record maintenance and management
- Child abuse and maltreatment identification and prevention
- Statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care
- Statutes and regulations pertaining to child abuse and maltreatment
- Education information on the identification, diagnosis and prevention of shaken baby syndrome
- Adverse childhood experiences, focused on understanding trauma and on nurturing resiliency
